Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet

Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet
The Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet can be considered as a portable computer, that has become a robust business machine, as well
The Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet is a robust 10.1 inch Tablet PC with a price that cannot be considered a bargain, but with many features that make it an appealing solution to the business user. It’s a big, tough tablet, and for some professionals that’s probably a selling point. The device weighs 750g.
Lenovo offers an optional keyboard folio case that connects to the IdeaPad tablet’s full-size USB port. The keyboard includes the ThinkPad’s trademark red optical trackpoint and offers control keys specific to Android system features such as volume, mute, microphone mute, home, back, menu, play and search. If you connect this folio keyboard to your Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet, you transform it into a Notebook like device. If you’re looking for a tablet/notebook hybrid, this folding keyboard case would seem to be the way to go.
Another feature of the Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet is that it has a hole drilled in its side. Lenovo has smartly integrated a cubbyhole into the side of the tablet for holding its optional digital pen accessory. What’s more, there are holes on both the pen and the tablet that allow you to attach the pen for safekeeping. If you don’t plan on using the ThinkPad Tablet with a stylus, Lenovo includes a plastic cover that plugs the hole.
The Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet Android
The Android 3.1 installed on the Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet comes with more than 30 applications preinstalled, ranging from big names like Netflix and Kindle to in-house productions, like SocialTouch (a messaging aggregator) and Lenovo App Shop.
You get the official Android Market, along with Google’s mobile apps for Maps, Gmail, Navigation, Books and Google Talk. The Honeycomb web browser is located in the centre on the ThinkPad Tablet’s home screen, positioned within an editable dashboard of common actions (watch videos, read email, listen to music and read books). This is called the Lenovo Launcher, and you have the freedom to delete it if you choose.
The Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet Business Features
The standard configuration comes with a complete set of business software applications, such as a full version of Documents To Go, Citrix Receiver and a Computrace Mobile app that makes it possible to remotely freeze, wipe, track or restore the tablet.
McAfee Mobile Security comes preinstalled, which is not usual for Android tablets.. There’s also a PrinterShare app for sending documents to any networked printer.
But the coolest trick the ThinkPad Tablet performs is on-the-fly handwriting conversion. Any time Android’s on-screen keyboard pops up, there’s an option to use Nuance’s FlexT9 input for hand-scribbling text, using either your finger or the optional stylus. The software transforms your letters into text in real time and can recognise 27 languages.
